Pantone Color for 2014 Radiant OrchidHappy New Years!
I am so excited that this year, that my blog posts fall on both Christmas and New Years!  I know you are busy fixing Black Eyed Peas and Collard Greens so I won’t take up too much of your time this morning.

I just thought you would want to know that Radiant Orchid is the Pantone Color of the Year for 2014.

Pantone chose this color because “it blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health.

“The New Tricks topic of the year for 2014 is  Content Marketing. This is really what I have been preaching all along but now it is even more essential to growing your business. With Google putting Keywords out to pasture, the way you get search ranking is through Social Sharing and that means you simply must have something worth sharing on your website and in a newsletter which brings people back to your website. It is not easy to put yourself out there. You must find the secret essence that will appeal to your particular clients. But, believe me most people in most industries do not just want to hear about your products and specials. They want your story and your brand message and they want to know that you know and understand them by the content you share with them.

There are those of you saying to yourself that your business is different, more corporate and that style of communication is not acceptable in your industry. But boring, lifeless, predictable articles will not get the job done of creating loyal, raving fans that line up to work with you or buy your products.

Re-read how Pantone described Royal Orchid. You want to create copy which “…blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. “Your writing should be “expressive, creative and embracing” to draw your readers in with “beguiling charm”. I was thinking as I wrote that last sentence that maybe beguiling charm was a stretch for those Attorney’s and CPA’s out there. But not really. Think about what are those people like in a social setting or networking lunch. They most likely tell stories and turn on the charm and that helps them land new clients. That, is what I am talking about. The timing is right. This is the year people for you to show up online. No more excuses that you are too busy.  Bring your best self to the party and let your readers  be enchanted.  I have some things planned that will help you do just that.In the meantime, I hope you have a very special New Years and I wouldn’t worry about making resolutions, just resolve to be you in all of your glory!

Great article, Judi!! Spot on! You did a great job exemplifying your words in your article! And, I love the synchronicity of it as well. This is exactly what's been on my mind as the new year rolls in and I begin my third year.
