I don’t know about you, but my inbox is very cluttered with notifications and messages from many sources that I really do not want. Yet, it is a pain to go into each of them and go through the unsubscribe process. Now we have a pretty great solution for inbox cleanup called Unroll.me.
Simply go to the Unroll.me website to get started. You put in your email address and Unroll.me goes through all of your subscriptions and lists them for you to go through and choose what to do with them. You can keep it as is, (which is what you will want to do with the Just a Digital Minute), unsubscribe with one click, or you can select items to be “Rolled Up” and presented to you in a grid format once a day.
I had 327 subscriptions. Wow! I was able to delete about 150 of them pretty easily in a first pass through. Then I went through and identified the ones I wanted to roll up. I had about 100 of them. That left me with 77 that I do want. Now those 77 are not all weekly newsletters so it is not as bad as it sounds. I will give this a try and see if I need to adjust things.
If you use Gmail, while you are doing this housekeeping, you might as well go ahead and get it just right and go look through each of your social, promotions and updates mail categories to see if you have newsletters or items that are automatically going into those buckets that you don’t want to overlook. If so, you can drag them into your primary mail category in order for them to automatically go in there from now on.
That wasn’t too bad was it![Tweet “Toss your junk mail with just one click, then “roll up” what you want to keep.”]
