Whether you want to learn more about using WordPress, or making WordPress sites there are a plethora of options. I have a couple of them to share with you today.
I am organizing WordCamp Atlanta again this year, along with an amazing team of volunteers. It will take place on March 14 and 15th. The tickets, going on sale at the beginning of February, are only $40.00 for the two-day event. Tickets will include four tracks of presentations covering topics for users, designers and developers at all levels.
We will also hold a Beginners Precamp, a week before regular camp, where fifty WordPress beginners will be able to get some hands-on experience before regular camp.
If you want to get more of a head start, then you can attend a WordPress Meetup in your city. We have a handful of them here in Atlanta. New Tricks is hosting one tonight with Carel Beker talking about Web Hosting.
If you want to get a WordPress site set up to practice on, Then WPBeginner will help you out at no charge if you purchase hosting from one of their recommended web hosts. Be sure to sign up for their WordPress Beginner Videos, also at no charge.
If you can’t make it to Atlanta for WordCamp, then check out WordCamp Central to find a WordCamp in your city, or somewhere in the world. In 2013, there were 31 WordCamps in the US, and 40 in other countries. You can also catch a lot of great sessions from these WordCamps on WordCampTV.
