Learn to Share: Share Your Slides On Slideshare • New Tricks
 In Social Media Tips

You may have a goldmine of great content that you haven’t considered before. If you have done talks and created PowerPoint slide decks, you can upload them onto Slideshare which is like YouTube for Slides. Once you upload them you can easily copy the embed code they provide and paste it into a post or page on your website.

If you want to get really fancy, you can do a free Google Hangout or other webinar format that includes screen-sharing and give your talk again while you are recording it. Then you will have the slides along with your complete presentation which you can embed onto your website or package it up as an information product.

Last week, I gave a talk to a Student Broadcasters Convention on Getting Started With WordPress, and posted my PowerPoint presentation to SlideShare in about five minutes. The cool thing was somehow it was being Tweeted about and made it to their front page. Now it has had 1309 views which has resulted in people going to my website. I just love the delightful, unintended circumstances of social media.

Hmmm. Maybe now I will take my own advice and record myself doing the presentation that went along with the slides and post that on my site. We’ll see:-)
