In E-mail Marketing

PyowMailChimp’s Pyow, has made it easy for a store owner or business to send QR code coupons to their subscribers with a discount through e-mail. The  customer can then present their QR code on their smart phone or by printout which can be scanned by the business to see whether it is still active or how many uses they have left. This is a pretty nifty option.

  1. Step 1
Send a campaign including the Pyow! merge tag.
  2. Step 2
Ask your customers bring in their coupons, either printed or on their smartphones.
  3. Step 3
Have Your Staff Scan the coupon with Pyow!
  4. Step 4
Log in to MailChimp to see how many times it was redeemed.

Nifty Features

  • Create and Insert a QR coupon into any MailChimp campaign.
  • Specify how many times the coupon can be used.
  • Scan a printed coupon or scan coupon on a smartphone using Pyow!
  • Find out how many people used the coupon.

My daughter does PR and Marketing for two DC restaurants. A couple of weeks ago she wanted to e-mail her list offering a free cocktail for coming in during the slow vacation times. This would be the perfect way to keep track of the offer and its redemption so it could not be used by a person more than once. Unfortunately, I didn’t know about this two weeks ago.  But now you do!

    Hey Judi

Thanks for sharing this, it might just be the perfect solution for a plan we have.

One question though – does scanning the barcode trigger anything beyond redemption of the coupon? Can it trigger an email, for example, or can users who have redeemed codes be segmented, for example?

MailChimp has tons of integrations then you can also use IFTTT or Zapier for other integrations.
